Biharinath Hill resides at a distance of 57 km from Bankura district and 24 km from Raniganj. It is considered that the hill is a witness of old Jain culture.

Biharinath Hill

Biharinath Temple

May you be a silent Nature lover or dedicated worshipper, this place holds all for you. You will find a small temple of Lord Shiva in the foothills. According to the worshippers, the ‘Shivalinga’, renowned as ‘Biharinath’ is very much alive. The hill is named upon the God’s actually. Eye soothing scenic beauty, whispering streams, deep sound of the temple bell will definitely create a peaceful space for you. Pilgrims come here from far and near during ‘Mahashivrati’ festival. This place becomes a serene pilgrimage during the month of ‘Shraban’ and ‘Navaratri’.

Forest and wildlife

This is the Araku valley of West Bengal, according to us the forgotten isolated tourist destination waiting for you to explore. Recently Spurfowl is found from this dense forests. There is a narrow trail through the Hills. We recommend to follow the trail in the main Biharinath hill and freely roam through the surrounding small hills. Here Common Babbler is seriously common. There are various rare Butterfly life Nawab, Rajah etc and predator life wolf, Hayena etc. Don’t visit in peak summer. This is perfect two day one night stand for a nature enthusiast. We recommend to visit in winter or in post-monsoon.
Oh, almost forgot to tell, search for painted grasshoppers, there are many beside the main pond.
